This print is a total flashback! We are in a full eighties resurgence with pops of neon, street-chic graffiti and graphic black and white accents. The fun color palette of this print had me saying yes to the dress.

My Favorite Accessories

Here are a few of my favorite accessories I have been wearing daily this spring. Since receiving my Sylva & Cie jade and diamond cocktail ring from my husband I have not taken it off . Happy Birthday to me! It is all about the rock candy large and in charge cocktail ring. In addition I recently found this vintage minaudiere that works with everything in my closet. The perfect little gem to sport for spring.

I appreciate the quality and design of anything Hermes. My Hermes Collier de Chien cuff is a little bit of rock and roll. The perfect piece to wear with a cotton tee and jeans.

Drum roll please! My very favorite accessory of them all the coveted 35cm Hermes Birkin bag. I can fit everything for work and play in this beauty. It really is the best everyday bag I could ever dream of or fantasize about. I believe in a well curated timeless collection of design. My closet is my happy place and source of inspiration.

Retro Hair: Finger Waves

Inspired by the finger wave of the 1930s and most recently worn by Reese Witherspoon in the movie Water for Elephants. I found myself pinching hair between my fingers transforming my blunt bob into a soft glamorous up do.

It has been quite the snowy and cold week in NYC. I think it is more than appropriate to answer one of our lovely reader's anonymous questions:

"Who makes the best winter coats to brave the NYC winters? Is it possible to have function meet fashion here?"

I am happy to report this winter there is an array of stylish coats to choose from. There is no need to sacrifice style for warmth. Designers have proven this season that they are cognoscente of form follows function. Here are my top picks for every budget.

The holidays are behind us and now we look to the future and the New Year ahead. I am thrilled with my Christmas extravaganza and wanted to share a few of my decor photos.

Artist Retreat: San Ysidro Ranch

The last few weeks I have been on an artists retreat. Seeking inspiration I traveled west and landed in Santa Barbara and took shelter at the San Ysidro Ranch, just 90 miles from LA.

Nestled into the lush Montecito foothills, the ranch provided a tranquil retreat for this artist.

Myth and history mingle in gardens where Vivien Leigh and Sir Laurence Olivier exchanged vows in the setting of John and Jackie Kennedy's honeymoon. You can feel the residue of the old school glamour everywhere you turn.

My private cottage offered intimate seclusion and a grand opportunity to go within, a place to indulge the senses and invigorate the soul. Sometimes it is just good to listen. Listen to your true voice, your true self. I find those are the times I create my best work as an artist.

The ranch provides exquisite culinary excellence. The Plow & Angel offers dishes created from herbs and vegetables grown in the organic gardens of the ranch.

I have to say my anniversary dinner (8 years) was one of the best I have ever enjoyed. Hands down I had the best cocktail of my life at the Plow & Angel. I sipped on an acai berry basil martini that was refreshing and spirited. Tasty, tasty, still dreaming of it.

Here, mind and body are emptied of care and transformed in the curative power of nature. The secret out. If you have the opportunity I highly recommend a stay at this heavenly ranch.

Laugh too much.

Love too hard and be kind to yourself.

Trend: Super Chunky Knit Sweaters

I am obsessed with my over sized grey wool jumbo cable knit cardigan from Zara in a big way. I can not help myself from wearing it everyday in this crisp cool autumn weather we are experiencing here in New York.

It is a dramatic and cozy way to complete my off-duty weekend look. It is oh so snuggle worthy.

Here are a few helpful tips for pulling off the super chunky knit sweater (a.k.a. cardi-coat) trend:

Layers that fall below your booty provide enough coverage to avoid embarrassment (they also help minimize the width of your hips and thighs). If you opt for a super chunky knit cardigan, leave the front open, so you don't get swallowed up by your humongous sweater. Keep your frame balanced in slim black leggings and luck them into your boots to further streamline the look.

The spring 2011 collection presented at New York Fashion Week was classic, crisp and quite pretty. I love the cropped trousers, tailored little jackets and draped cocktail dresses.

The smart color palette of white, black and red always works. That leaves room for amazing accessories! The collection was styled with fabulous stone bangle bracelets. Pile them high girls, pile the bracelets high.

California Dreaming

I give you my sincerest apologies for the brief interruption in programming last week. I was in the glorious state of California taking some time to see old friends, make new ones and enjoy a total mind, body, spirit experience. Sometimes it is good to step away from the the things you love to realize how much you really do love them.

I had a fabulous lunch with the enormously gifted designer Kevan Hall. I had the pleasure of touring his magnificent light filled 5,000 square-foot retail atelier at 8313 Beverly Blvd. with a view of the Hollywood Hills. Kevan Hall's atelier is open to the pubic and he is planning a fabulous event for Fashion's Night Out. If you are in the LA area you must check it out. I also got a sneak peep at his stunning new bridal collection that will debut in October. Brides can visit his glamorously renovated second-floor bridal salon by appointment only.

Later in the week I dined with a group of designers and film makers at The Bazaar SLS Beverly Hills. The decor is unique, surprising, sleek and sophisticated. I savored the tasty treats on the tapas menu created by Jose Andres. The big hit of the night was the specialty cocktail "Liquid Nitrogen Felice Fiestas" created with lemon, rum and liquid nitrogen. A stylish bartender creates this scrumptious/lethal concoction table side. If you're in town its worth the visit.

The big event of the week was the marriage of Hollywood agent and fashion blogger Frankie Hearts Fashion. She wore vintage Mary McFadden couture, Marni ski high pumps with vintage 1940 rhinestone shoe clips and an antique brooch in her side swept hair, a stunning fashion vision to say the least. Thus far it was the best event of the year and I feel blessed to have been included.

DIY Denim Hued Dyed Wood Bead Jewelry

As promised my first DIY jewelry video. Get your girlfriends together and craft these summer suitable denim hued dyed wood bead necklaces and bracelets. I like to design a party-like atmosphere for my gal pals and serve up Jewel Punch (recipe below). Get imaginative and create a little themed event for your friends and family to fashion some summer chic jewelry that is one of a kind.

Materials you will need to get started:

Unfinished wood beads
Rit Liquid dye
Floral wire
Wire cutters
Plastic container
2mm-3mm leather cord

Traditional Necklace Lengths:

Choker (12-13 inches) Choker necklaces lie snugly around the neck.
Collar (14-16 inches) Collar necklace are classic and versatile, they fit perfectly around the base of the neck.
Princess (17-19 inches) The princess necklace fall just below the throat.
Matinee (20-24 inches)
Opera (28-36 inches) You can wear the opera necklace single or double.
Rope (over 45 inches) Coco was known for her ropes and ropes of pearls. I love my classic rope necklaces at 60 inches.

The most common bracelet length is 7 inches. I fashioned a bunch on fun stretch bracelets using elastic stretch string and they fit every wrist size.

Jewel Punch (makes 18 drinks)

1 liter ginger ale, chilled
Three 12-once bags frozen cherries
1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled & sliced
3 cups purple grape juice, chilled
1 1/2 cups vodka
3/4 cup Cointreau or triple sec
Ice, for serving

Curvy girls can take a voluminous shape shirt/dress and just belt it to accentuate the hourglass. Like I said work with what you've got.

I have been living in this Gap white shirt dress that I pair with a hemp belt and "Trillby" hat. The denim hued dyed wood bead necklaces I created and will be posting a DIY video later this week. Stay tuned so you too can make these lovely necklaces yourself.

I plan on rocking the white blouse this fall with a tied scarf for a lady like/sexy secretary look paired with wide leg pants. Stay tuned as I will be posting a video on how to create this look with elements you already own.

Nightly Skincare Routine

My Skincare Routine Part 2

This is my nightly skincare routine I have put together with my dermatologist.

I clean my face morning and night with Sulfatol Cleanser prescribed by my doctor.
Next I apply a thin layer of Sulfacetamide Sodium Topical Suspension USP, 10% with a cotton cosmetic pad. This product is also prescribed by my doctor.
I apply ICS Skin Therapie Eye Therapie eye cream under my eyes and upper lids.
Next I apply ICS Skin Therapie Facial Night Therapie to my face and neck.
Lastly I generously apply ICS Skin Therapie Lip Therapie to my lips.

The purity, potency and penetration of the ingredients used to create Dr. Cap Lesesne's ICS Skin Therapie products have generated a cult like following. I LOVE IT!

Mish's Summer Skincare Routine

This weekend a dear friend of mine asked me how I keep my skin looking like a baby's bottom. I laughed and told her it takes a small village. That conversation inspired my first video post "Summer Skincare Routine" (Acne Prone Skin).

For many years I was frustrated and in a tizzy because I could not find any over the counter products that worked at keeping my adult acne at bay. So, I decided to clean house, throw everything in the trash and see a dermatologist. In a few short weeks the clouds parted and everyday my skin became clearer, brighter with fewer noticeable breakouts. Now after a year of being on the program I never breakout. This is the routine I have put together with my doctor.

I clean my face morning and night with Sulfatol Cleanser prescribed by the doctor.

Next I apply a thin layer of Sulfacetamide Sodium Topical Suspension USP, 10% with a cotton cosmetic pad. This product is also prescribed by my doctor.

I apply Rosacea Care Tinted ZincO Cream SPF 20 to my face, neck and chest.

Next I gently apply Yves Saint Laurent Temps Majeur eye cream under my eyes.

Every six weeks I have a B-Liftx peel applied in the dermatologist's office (my secret weapon).

The B-Liftx chemical peel made with beta hydroxyacid really changed everything for my skin. Immediately after the peel I can see brighter even toned skin along with a firmer texture. After a year of having these peels the fine lines that started to creep onto my face are gone and my pores are teeny tiny. The big bonus is I have no more acne!

My intention for writing this post is to let others know who are frustrated and suffering there is a solution. Stop hiding and see a dermatologist, they are your friend

We have seen them on the runways since 2007 (Prada, Hermes) it is time for the chic piece to go mainstream. I am having visions of gals everywhere wearing a mini turban over the hair like a hat or headband.

This look has not surfaced mainstream since the 1980's. We have seen oversize statement earrings but not the dramatic "Dynasty" button. I'm ready for the big bold button.

I spent the holiday weekend in the hills of Connecticut exploring Jones Winery and attending garden parties. My stylish go-to piece for the summer heat is my 'has it all' maxi dress: casually chic, sexy and comfortable.

Anything new and note worthy in the realm of style floats my boat. This week resort 2011 collections are a blaze in New York.
Resort collections are created for the uber jet-setter and I'm inspired by these stylish looks:

The lady like white pant suit with turbanesque headpiece is ultra chic and sophisticated. But have to say the high waisted white pants are not for everyone. Black-and-white draws attention like a bull's eye. We know black conceals and white reveals and high waisted white pants won't do ya any favors at your widest point. Simple math ladies if your derriere is larger then you would like and you wish to conceal it wear black on the bottom. Use black to your advantage, accentuate your positive. Balance wide hips with a print on top like shown above. If you're petite (like myself), create the illusion of additional inches with vertical lines. That's how I plan to rock this look.

At this moment I am obsessed with cropped pants and my 'Alexa' Mulberry bag. There has been a lot of discussion about the new length among my design friends. What is the length exactly you might ask. Most cropped pants should be cut close to the leg (straight-leg) and hemmed closer to the ankle than the knee.

My interest in the print trend of 2010 continues and the over the top romanticism of a good floral is no exception.

I found this eye-popping graphic floral print dress in my mother's closet. She said it was from the 1960's and that my grandmother had made it for her. Lucky for me I found it!

This afternoon I walked into Around the World magazine shop, the mecca for fashion industry publications a.k.a. fashion bibles. I was in need of some visual inspiration and picked up "In Trend Bijoux, New York, London, Milan, Paris" addition. As I was nonchalantly flipping through the pages, shebang, I was stopped in my tracks, there were my designs for Pamella Roland on page 33, sitting in the midst of Chanel, Lanvin, Marni and Jean Paul Gaultier creations.

These are the little moments in my life I give great gratitude for the career I have had up to now. I am also grateful for my future. I absolutely love what I do for a living and it is hard for me to call it a job. I don't find my work to be a task or something negative to be dealt with. I love it.

Love is the the only thing that becomes more when you give it away. I give love to all my projects. These is always space for more love. Whenever you open your heart great things happen.

Napa Valley's newest boutique hotel, the Bardessono, is a shining star of the eco-luxury design and experience. Like an incredibly complex, organic wine, the Bardessono is an artisanally crafted, peaceful retreat that is a delight to the mind, body and spirit. Its eco-conscious developer, Phil Sherbourne, showcases his vision to create beautiful places and extraordinary experiences while not harming our plant's future.

Blending natural materials, clean lines, and organic textures, the architecture firm Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo of Seattle, Washington created an aesthetic that is refined, modern, and luxurious while being incredibly eco-conscious. The hotel was designed to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Designs (LEED) Platinum certification, the highest standard for environmental design. Solar panels and geothermal technologies reduce their energy consumption by 50% over a typical hotel. An occupancy sensor adjusts thermostats and turns off the lights in the guest rooms when the rooms are unoccupied to conserve energy. Beautiful woods milled from salvaged trees were utilized throughout the hotel for the flooring, doors, exterior siding, and as table tops.

The interiors, designed by Inside Out Design are cozy, warm and eco-friendly too. The fabrics used on interior furnishings are green certified. All glues, adhesives, finishes, paints, carpets and fabrics used at Bardessono were required to meet low volatile organic compounds (VOC) standards to vastly improve indoor air quality. Sumptuous organic linens, terry bathrobes, and towels not only feel wonderful, but are healthier for your skin, reduce air pollutants in your suite, and are manufactured in improved ways for the planet.

Being at one with nature never felt so good. The hotel's in room spa treatments, farm fresh organic cuisine served in their restaurant, and pampering service dedicated to making their guest experience rich with wine country adventures are all a part of creating the holistic eco-luxury experience. OK, I am officially sick and tired of the cold weather and am so glad Spring has officially arrived and the temperature has finally warmed up! After organizing and putting away all of my cashmere sweaters, I changed into my short sleeve Quicksilver Tee and hibiscus floral board shorts and headed to an outdoor cafe to enjoy the sun. To our readers who do not live in sunny California but dream about soaking up the sun on the beach, enjoying the warm salty breeze or cruising with the top down, here are some “California Looks” you can try at home where ever you in the world.

First, remember, California girls dress all different ways! From Bohemian Goddess, Surfer girl or the rocker skater girl look. Don’t assume we all look like the girls from the reality show “The Hills” or “Laguna Beach” on MTV! The most important thing to remember is being unique and showing off your individuality! I am so thrilled spring is here; time to bust out the buff neutrals. I am a fan of this color trend for spring but I personally cannot wear it head toe with my coloring or body type. I have been feelin' crafty lately so I tie dyed this rayon blend scarf. I made sure it was a long scarf so I could twist it into this little DIY halter top. I love when my accessories are multi-functional.

I would like to introduce contributing editor Alan Tung. Alan is a west coast designer, taste maker and shop owner. He has his pulse on whats NEW and HOT in fashion. We have worked together for many years in the fashion industry and I believe you love what he is dishin'.

OMG! this is fabulous! You can create your own unique one of the kind Fendi Baguette! But I don't think I'd have the guts to sew or draw on a thousand dollar bag, but it's such a great idea!

Every time I attempt to pretend I can be like the domestic diva Martha Stewart by turning an ugly flea market find into a paper-mache chandelier, it's always a miserable failure. So needless to say, I haven't been brave enough to attempt to decorate my own FENDI Baguette!

So, of course, when I saw Fendi's new Baguette Needlepoint Stitch Kit, designed by Silvia Venturini FENDI, I was so confident that I could totally do it! Maybe a cherry blossom flower on the right then scroll down to the left and sprinkle some green vines in between the flowers and ...the more I think of it, the more intimidated by the thought that this is a $1000 bag what if I ruin it?

Aspen Fashion Week 2010

Now in its second year, Aspen Fashion Week a week chock full of apres ski fashion shows, parties at downtown shops, film screenings at the historic Wheeler Opera House, concerts, late-night soirees and more.

The first slope side show we attended was Obermeyer, a local Colorado company.

The theme of the show was clearly fashion meets function. Company reps boasted about their new light weight ploy-waterproof fabrics that were breathable and do not wrinkle in your luggage.

Bright shiny disco fabrics I like to refer to as 'seen or be run over': metallic silver, grape, acid green, turquoise, cobalt, bright orange and red.

At Kjus it was all about NEON. The construction of this ski line is outstanding. Light weight jackets that are lined with the same material they use on NASA space suits. All the seams are heat sealed so no cold air is going to get to your girlie parts (or manly parts?).

At Parajumpers the theme was military chic on the slopes.

I love this military inspired look because you can rock it off the slopes and look super chic.

My look of the week was military inspired too. I love my new Bogner coat that I rocked with cargo pants and snub toe booties when I was off the slopes.

Aspen Extreme

It has almost been two weeks without a single peep out of me. I broke every blogger rule known to man. Well it was for good reason. I was instructed by my teacher, healer and psychic Lexa Finley to stay away from the computer for one week. That meant no blogging, no email and no social media, no work what so ever. You all know how I like a challenge...remember the 'blackout challenge'?

I needed to recharge my batteries and that meant I needed to play. So play I did. I ventured off to the sun and white creamy mountains of Aspen Colorado. Each day consists of skiing, Veuve Clicquot apres ski, eating yummy meals and surrendering to the moment.

What did I learn on this little mountain excursion? The importance of: sleep, great friends, fresh berries with real whipped cream, pushing your body physically and working through fear, not taking fresh air for granted, having fun, a great massage, and above all the importance of investing in myself.

After my much needed down time it is back to work. Aspen Fashion Week 2010 is well underway and I am here to report on all the new gear we will all be rockin' come next ski season.

Runway presentations will take place each day at the snow stage built at the base of Aspen Mountain. In addition to the runway show many companies will be demoing the new gear at the top of Aspen Mountain. How fun.

Snow Chic Coats

Here in New York it is snowing cats and dogs. I wish to brave the elements but I don't have a thing to wear. In the midst of my dilemma I stumbled across the Burberry Prorsum show.

WOW is the eloquent word that comes to mind. I am drooling over the oversize funnel collars and sherling cropped aviator jacket. I now have an urgent dilemma, what to buy?

All the outerwear is available pre-order on the website and expected to ship by April.
It is about time a company figured out the see now, buy now concept. BRAVO Burberry!

Mish Dishes Carnelian

I have been a little energetically depleted since the Pamella Roland fashion show. When I am in need of energy, protection and joy I turn to Carnelian stone.

The stone glows with a beautiful orange-burnt red hue. I created a new necklace around the stone that is believed to represent confidence, boldness, assertiveness and outgoingness.

The necklace is embellished with a 14k gold bouquet giving the piece a little 'flower power'.

I adore this big cat print on my new Diane Von Furstenberg cardigan. I can wear this new piece into spring with my new satin Marc Jacob shorts and a cute tee.

Pamella Roland Fall 2010 - Runway Review

Classic Venetian glamour served as the muse for designer Pamella Roland's fall 2010 collection. The collection was infused with dark decadent colors and luxe fabrics that speak to Venice's grand palazzos, lavish festivals and shimmering canals.

The collection embodies the classic romantic beauty and mysterious nature of the city while integrating a sleek modern edge and structured dimension. Fabrications and colors are bold yet elegant, pairing rich jewel tones back to textured noirs and metallics.

A mink jacket paired with jewel encrusted leg warmers is creative and luxurious and I want to rock that look now.

I love this collection and I am not just saying that because I designed the accessories. I feel honored to have worked with such a talented, hard working and dedicated team. I am truly grateful.

Love is the only thing that becomes more when you give it away. I gave my love to this project. There is always space for more love. Whenever you open your heart great things happen to you.

Love and do what you want. BTW, I want this dress.

Day five of the black out challenge. It was also hair cut day, also known as 'Spencer hijacked my hair day'. I went in for a trim and I walked out with a short crop. Three days of not leaving the house and now I'm over it. It's only hair right??? It WILL grow...right?

The up side to the shorter hair is it only takes seven minutes to style. We have been putting in 15 hour long days getting ready for the show. This quick beauty routine has come in very handy.

I am all about a printed look for spring. Whether its a floral, ikat, a check, a polka dot, a star, heart or paint splatter. Mix them, match them, work them for spring.

The Camel Coat

It is day four of the black out challenge and I am mourning black. Or am I merely addicted to black and am going through withdrawal? This got me thinking and doing a little research.

Definition of withdrawal:

Withdrawal is a term referring to the feeling of discomfort, distress, and intense craving for a substance/color that occur when use of the substance/color is stopped. These physical symptoms occur because the body had become metabolically/psychologically adapted to the substance/color. The withdrawal symptoms can range from mild discomfort resembling the flu to severe withdrawal that can actually be life threatening.

Wow that sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing, I even have a sore throat and congested sinuses. To deal with my discomfort and distress I decided to go shopping. This was a fruitful endeavor at my temple Bergdorf Goodman. I found this fabulous camel coat on the 75% off rack.

The camel coat is a perfect addition to any wardrobe, the epitome of easy luxe. It is easy to wear and extremely elegant worn with all black. I guess a leopard can't change her spots.

This weekend was day three of the black out challenge. I had a cocktail party to attend and did not want to break the challenge by running to my ever chic black cocktail dress and aggressive booties. The only appropriate dress I had in my closet is the Marc Jacob sweatshirt dress. I paired it with a green boyfriend fatigue jacket which gave it a functional vibe. On top of that I layered crystals which took the look to a whole new level, my version of army glam.

This week the lovely spirit Reiko of God's Favorite Shoes proposed a challenge, an entire week of not wearing any black. No black for a week? Not even a little accessory like tight? NO, no black for an entire week. I jumped at the opportunity because I know that 95.5% of my wardrobe is black. I knew this would be a great challenge and opportunity for growth. I have spent the last seventeen years living in New York and black has become a part of my DNA. I know question why?

The free will to dress the way we want to dress, be who we want to be. (I promise I will not break out into song) I don't criticize how others dress. I have found that if you don't like something it is really something within yourself that you don't like. My loving father says, "Opinions are like ass holes every body's got one". Isn't that the truth?

Fashion is about fun. Let's all have a flippin' blast being ourselves. Let's celebrate each other and enjoy the journey every step of the way. Who's in with me???

This weekend I caught a lovely bug that is making the rounds in NYC and it left me seeing a lot of my pillow. I was in some serious need of some healing jewelry. When I feel like this I turn to turquoise.

I designed this bold necklace for Carolee a few years back and it was inspired by international pocket change. I love the mix of metals: antique gold, antique silver and antique brass. Two-tone and tri-tone metals were big in the 80's and I'm feeling a big return in the near future. It looks so fresh and modern to mix metals.

I was digging through the closet this weekend and found these Prada boots. I trust I found them for a reason. Inner trust really is the best accessory to sport.

With all the talk about lower heels being en vogue this spring I am glad I rediscovered them. This is as low as I will go unless it is a ballerina flat.

Ice, Ice Baby!

Clear Lucite accessories or chunky crystals are all the rage for 2010. I am having a love affair with Nicole Miller's new line of chunky crystal jewelry. I wish I had created it myself.

Happy New Year's Eve everyone. I am frosting my carrot cake this morning wondering if anyone will show up this evening to eat it. The lovely weather we are receiving here in the tri-state area might put a wrench into travel plans.

This is the best carrot cake you will ever eat.

Mish's Carrot Cake- Bake 350' for 40 minutes

3 sticks, plus 1 table spoon unsalted butter to grease two 9" round cake pans

2 cups granulated sugar

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups grated carrots (I put them in the food processor and pulse away)

1 cup chopped glazed pecans (food processor as well)

Cream Cheese Icing:

8 ounces cream cheese

1 stick unsalted butter

1 box confectioners' sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Happy baking! It's worth the extra 30 minutes on the treadmill.

I ran out into 16 inches of fresh powder in an evening gown.

I have always had this great fantasy of running out into the snow in an evening gown, cherishing how the fabric dances across the powder as I run free and wild.

It was thrilling and I felt like a kid again.

We have been given a beautiful vessel to get us through life. We have been given a gorgeous body, a one of a kind design. Why doubt it? Why not love it? Why at times hate it. I often wonder why women spend so much time in front of the mirror dissecting themselves. That time would be better spent helping someone or making the world a better place. Or better yet shopping! Get over yourself. Step away from the flippin' mirror. We are a bunch of egos mesmerized in front of the damn mirror. This is not the point! Yes, we love fashion, we love vanity but we need to love thy self. Women make the world go round. We are the creators. How magnificent is that? We have the ability to create life. For that we should be proud and give a little more respect to our bodies.

Today while designing shoes I got to thinking about my absolute love for the accessory. Here's the story that went running through my head...

Have you ever wondered how people survive heart break? Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you wondered where the next day will lead you? And without fail it leads you right to Bergdorf Goodman's shoe salon. Gazing across the sea of mouth watering soles you think, "everything will be all right once I slip on one of these beauties". As if being transformed like Cinderella and the glass slipper. This beautiful new slipper will take me down a new path, a new tomorrow. The hope of new romance, self acceptance or new found confidence. How can I keep going? Simple. You are strong, stronger then you think you are. Its not about comparing yourself to the girl in the magazine or the beauties on TV. Its knowing you are beautiful and perfect for your purpose. You truly are the ultimate in design. Doesn't it fascinate you that no two people look exactly alike? That being said why does a large portion of the population strive to look the same? Like a Barbie? Have we lost sight of our true self? Have we lost sight of no two girls should fill out a pair of shoes the same? Where is our excitement to live and celebrate our uniqueness? Where does the creativity reside?

How far will be go for the perfect pair of shoes?

Christmas in Connecticut

I spent the holiday weekend decorating rather then shopping. I get really excited to decorate the tree every year and come up with a theme. My inspirations were the metallics of the season, Arctic ice and the angelic realm. And lets not forget...

all the glitz and glam inspired by jewelry. I plan on hosting a few soirees this season and I can't be the only shimmering thing in the room.

The Dream List Begins...

This week is all about reflection and gratitude. I intend on thanking the gods for all the love in my life, my family, my friends, my health, and the many abundant blessings in my life including my 800 sq. ft. closet. After a weekend of cleaning I intend on giving much of my wears away so I may receive some glittery new tasties that I love this holiday season. Every year I compile a 'dream list', a gluttonous wish list of luxury wears. As if I'm Cinderella the bell of the ball...I mean closet. This year my list begins with Chanel.
