Urban Prep: A White Shirt Dress

A preppy yet chic statement for summer, this classic piece is a MUST-HAVE for every wardrobe. It's the best investment piece for every season. This classic white shirt/shirt dress can be worn with almost anything, and it never goes out of style. No details needed just crisp, clean and classic lines. It can be styled a little bit sexy, a little bit sophisticated or sharp and clean.

The color works with every complexion so you just need to find the cut that works for your shape. You always want to work with what you've got! If you're busty like me you may want o find a shirt with a covered placket. It will cover any pulling that may occur over the much filled area. Curvy girls can take a voluminous shape shirt/dress and just belt it to accentuate the hourglass. Like I said work with what you've got.
I have been living in this Gap white shirt dress that I pair with a hemp belt and "Trillby" hat. The denim hued dyed wood bead necklaces I created and will be posting a DIY video later this week. Stay tuned so you too can make these lovely necklaces yourself.
I plan on rocking the white blouse this fall with a tied scarf for a lady like/sexy secretary look paired with wide leg pants. Stay tuned as I will be posting a video on how to create this look with elements you already own.

You doll it up deliciously, Mish Dish! That fantastic fedora (or trilby?) and the loads of necklaces really make the look fun and unique. Classic shirt, but not boring like this! My problem with the white blouse for myself, is that I'm always staining them up right quick! But, I just bought a long sleeved one for fall, an off-white, so hopefully my sloppy ways won't show as quickly.
